Lane Productions are delighted to announce cast details for the return of THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION at the Gaiety Theatre from May 4th to 29th, 2010. Kevin Anderson will reprise his role as Andy Dufresne and John Jelks joins the cast as Red.

Kevin Anderson made his Off-Broadway debut in Steppenwolf's Orphans and has been a member of the ensemble since 1984. Kevin's subsequent returns to the stage have been as varying as they were lauded, from the world premiere of Sunset Boulevard in London to Death of a Salesman on Broadway (for which he was nominated for a Tony Award) to a heartbreaking turn in I Never Sang For My Father at Steppenwolf.

Since starring with Julia Roberts and Patrick Bergin in Sleeping with the Enemy, Kevin Anderson has continued to work alongside many Hollywood greats. Most recently he was directed by and starred alongside Al Pacino in Oscar Wilde’s Salomé at the Wadsworth Theater in LA. His impressive TV / film credits include In Country, Charlotte’s Web, A Thousand Acres, Rising Sun, Miami Vice, Miles from Home, Risky Business and many more. Among those Kevin has worked with are Michelle Pfeiffer, Colin Firth, Tom Cruise, Richard Gere, Bruce Willis, Joan Allen, Helen Hunt, Harvey Keitel and Joan Allen.

Jelks also appeared with Felicia Rashad on Broadway in August Wilson’s Gem of the Ocean as “Citizen” (after runs at the Goodman, Huntington, and Mark Taper theaters, where he won an NAACP Theater Award and an L.A. Ovation Award.) In 2008, Jelks won an AUDELCO Award for his work in the off-Broadway revival of The First Breeze of Summer.
