Daniel's theatre credits include Philadelphia Here I Come! (Gaiety Theatre), Roberto Zucco (Bedrock), The Ha'penny Bridge (Point Theatre), One Whose Veins Ran Lightning (New Theatre), One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest (Gaiety/Olympia), Sauce For The Goose (Gaiety/Cork Opera House), John Bull’s Other Island (Gaiety), The Mask of Moriarty (Gate), Forever Young (Project), Murder in the Cathedral (Christchurch) and Romeo and Juliet (Hong Kong).
Well known to radio listeners, Daniel worked in the Radio Drama Department of RTÉ as actor, playwright and producer for over thirty years. Among his favourite radio roles are Christy Mahon in The Playboy of the Western World, Charlie Now in Da, Father O’Connor in Strumpet City and Willie Loman in Death of a Salesman. His Shakespearean roles include Shylock, Prospero, Feste, Puck and the Fool in King Lear. Daniel played Willie Bracken in Harbour Hotel for fifteen years and as the author of many radio plays, he created and wrote the daily serial, Riverrun. Daniel's stage plays include The O.K. Thing to Do (Peacock), Spenser’s Laye (Project and Edinburgh Festival) and Fun with Bamboo (winner Bewley’s Café Theatre Award.)
Daniel's screen credits include The Tudors (CBC/Showtime), The Clinic (RTÉ), Fallout (Frontier Films), My Left Foot (Ferndale Films), Night Train (Subotica), The Silver Tassie (BBC) and Father Tighe in Fair City (RTÉ).
